A's trade RHP Arnold Leon to Toronto for cash

The Oakland A's traded right-handed pitcher Arnold Leon to the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations, the club announced today. Leon was designated for assignment Dec. 28 when the A's signed Henderson Alvarez.

Leon made his Major League debut with the A's last year and was 0-2 with a 4.39 ERA in 19 games over six separate stints. He saw his most extensive action during a September call-up when he logged a 3.21 ERA in 10 appearances. The 27-year-old right-hander spent the balance of the season with Triple-A Nashville where he was 2-5 with a save and a 2.95 ERA in 20 games, including six starts.
