Astros Claim Reynolds off Waivers from Dodgers

Right-handed reliever pitched last season in Angels system

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros have claimed right-handed pitcher Danny Reynolds off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The announcement was made by General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

Reynolds, 24, pitched his 2015 season at Double A Arkansas in the Los Angeles Angels system, appearing in 43 games and recording 10 saves. He went 2-3 with a 4.57 ERA (22ER/43.1IP), while recording 50 strikeouts and allowing a .213 opponent batting average in his 43.1 innings pitched. He was originally selected by the Angels in the sixth round of the June 2009 Draft. He pitched six seasons (2010-15) in the Angels system before being claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on Dec. 7, 2015. He was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Dec. 18 and claimed by Houston today.

With today's roster move, the Astros 40-man roster now stands at 38.
