First baseman Andy Wilkins sent to Milwaukee Brewers in waiver claim

Arlington, Texas -- The Rangers announced today that first baseman Andy Wilkins has been sent to the Milwaukee Brewers in a waiver claim. Wilkins had been received by the Rangers from the Seattle Mariners in a December 14 waiver claim.

Wilkins, 27, combined to bat .251 (109-434) with 18 home runs and 79 RBI over 126 games at the Triple-A level last season with Buffalo and Oklahoma City in the Blue Jays and Dodgers organizations, respectively. The Brewers are his seventh different organization in this calendar year.

The Rangers now have 39 players on the club's 40-man roster.
