Colorado Rockies agree to three-year extension with right-handed pitcher Adam Ottavino

The Colorado Rockies announced Monday that they have agreed to terms on a three-year extension with right-handed pitcher Adam Ottavino.
·          Ottavino, 30, appeared in 10 games for the Rockies in 2015, going 1-0 with three saves in three opportunities, allowing no earned runs with two walks and 13 strikeouts … he was placed on the 15-day disabled list April 27 with right triceps inflammation and transferred to the 60-day disabled list May 14 after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
·          Made a career-high 75 appearances in 2014, going 1-4 with one save and a 3.60 ERA (65.0 IP, 26 ER) with 16 walks and 70 strikeouts … in four seasons with the Rockies, is 8-8 with four saves and a 3.44 ERA (232.2 IP, 89 ER) with 83 walks and 242 strikeouts … he was acquired by the Rockies off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals April 3, 2012.
·          Originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round (30th overall) of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft out of Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. … in parts of five seasons with the Cardinals and Rockies, the Brooklyn, New York native is 8-10 with four saves and a 3.88 ERA (255.0 IP, 110 ER) with 92 walks and 254 strikeouts in 194 appearances, three starts.

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
