Yankees 2015 Rule 5 Draft Recap

Earlier today in the Triple-A phase of today's Rule 5 Draft, the Yankees selected RHP Yefrey Ramirez (Rd. 1) from the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, RHP Julian Aybar (Rd. 2) from the Chicago Cubs organization, and C Santiago Nessy (Rd. 3) from the Kansas City Royals organization.

Ramirez, 22, pitched for Rookie-Level Missoula in the Pioneer League in 2015, going 5-5 with a 5.35 ERA (69.0IP, 68H, 41ER, 21BB, 61K, 11HR) in 14G/13GS.

Aybar, 23, went 8-1 with 2 saves and a 1.82 ERA (39.2IP, 26H, 8ER, 9BB, 47K, 1HR) for the Rookie-Level DSL Cubs in 2015.

Nessy, 23, batted .220 (46-for-209) with 17R, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 4HR and 25RBI in 66G with Single-A Carolina and Double-A Northwest Arkansas in 2015.

In the Major League phase of the Rule 5 Draft, the Cincinnati Reds selected OF Jake Cave (second pick) and the Atlanta Braves selected LHP Evan Rutckyj (third pick) from the New York Yankees.

Additionally, in the first round of the Triple-A phase, the Colorado Rockies selected RHP Luis Niebla, the Oakland A's selected OF Danny Oh, and the Arizona Diamondbacks selected C Eduardo De Oleo. In the second round of this phase, the Tampa Bay Rays selected RHP Yoel Espinal.
