The Orioles on Tuesday announced their 2016 Spring Training schedule, which opens March 1 at the Atlanta Braves.
Baltimore will open its home schedule the following day, March 2, with a 1:05 p.m. ET game against the Braves at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Fla. Their Grapefruit League season will run through March 31's home finale against the Braves.
Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Sarasota for camp on Feb. 18, with their first workout set for the following day. Position players are scheduled to report on Feb. 23, with the first full-squad workout slated for Feb. 24. Like previous years, the workouts will be free and open to the public on the back fields at the complex.
Eight opponents make up the Orioles' 16 home games, with the Orioles hosting the Minnesota Twins and the Braves three times each, as well as the Tampa Bay Rays, the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Pirates twice each. The Orioles will also square off against the Toronto Blue Jays and the Philadelphia Phillies once each at Ed Smith Stadium.
The O's will make three road trips to play the Twins; two trips to play the Rays, Blue Jays, Phillies, Red Sox, Yankees and Pirates; and one trip to play the Braves.
The 2016 season is the team's seventh consecutive Spring Training in Sarasota, and the sixth at renovated Ed Smith Stadium.
Single-game tickets for all 16 games at Ed Smith Stadium will go on sale Jan. 23. Fans interested in additional information on suite rentals or pregame party facilities should call 941-893-6317. Additional information on Orioles Spring Training is available at www.orioles.com/spring.
