Kershaw's next scheduled start is TBD

NEW YORK -- Clayton Kershaw threw an abbreviated bullpen session Sunday night at Citi Field that will prepare him to start either Tuesday's Game 4 of the National League Division Series on short rest or Game 5 on Thursday at home.

Manager Don Mattingly said he had not decided whether Kershaw or Alex Wood would start Game 4. If it's Kershaw, he would be starting on three days' rest for the third time in his postseason career.

Game Date Matchup
Gm 1 Oct. 9 NYM 3, LAD 1
Gm 2 Oct. 10 LAD 5, NYM 2
Gm 3 Oct. 12 NYM 13, LAD 7
Gm 4 Oct. 13 LAD 3, NYM 1
Gm 5 Oct. 15 NYM 3, LAD 2

Kershaw threw 113 pitches in Friday night's Game 1 loss to the Mets, and Sunday would be his normal bullpen session day on a five-day cycle. Because he might pitch on a four-day cycle, he cut short his session by about 10 pitches.

Mattingly wouldn't reveal his intentions for his Game 3 starting lineup, but he said he did not feel that rookie shortstop Corey Seager was showing signs of postseason pressure.

"I'm fine with him," Mattingly said.

Game 3 will air Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET on TBS.
