As part of the AstraZeneca "Make Your Move Across America" campaign, the Seattle Mariners will offer free lipid screenings and cholesterol education to baseball fans attending the home game at Safeco Field against the Angels on Tuesday, September 15. Make Your Move Across America is a dynamic health initiative designed to educate consumers about the importance of knowing their lipid levels and the cardiovascular risks associated with elevated cholesterol.
Adult fans 18 and older attending the game will also receive an infographic on lipid education, a patient brochure, and a "Moments That Move You" application, which helps patients with high cholesterol begin their journey towards better cholesterol management. Free cholesterol screenings will be provided on the 300 level, Outside Corner above Home Plate Gate from 5 p.m. through the 3rd inning.
High cholesterol is a risk factor for developing heart disease. More than 71 million American adults (34%) have high LDL-C (bad cholesterol), and of this group, only one out of three has LDL-C level under control. Because high cholesterol shows no signs or symptoms, adults must be diagnosed through a lipid profile blood test.
Being implemented in 21 cities across the country, "Make Your Move Across America" is the first of its kind for AstraZeneca, demonstrating the company's commitment to cardiovascular patients. Consumers will be provided with the knowledge to take the next step to talk to their doctor about their cholesterol health.
