Martinez, 32, spent the entire 2015 season to date in Columbus where he batted .289 (105-363) with 24 doubles, 5 triples, 5 home runs, 42 RBI and 53 runs scored (.344/.424/.768) in 102 games. He also stole 11 bases in 14 attempts and currently ranks 11th in the International League in batting average. The switch-hitter batted .310 (86-277, .809OPS) off right-handed pitching, hit .313 (50-160) with runners on base and since the All-Star Break batted .328 (41-125) with 10 2B, 1 3B, 1HR & 17 RBI over his final 32 games at Triple-A. The versatile Martinez appeared in 66 games at second base, 19 games in center field, 13 games at shortstop, 4 games at third base and 3 games in right field. He was a non-roster player in Major League camp this spring after signing on February 13th and appeared in 188 Major League games with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh from 2011-2014.
Soto, 24, also spent the entire season at AAA Columbus, posting a mark of 2-1 with 2 saves and a 2.68 ERA in 46 games/1 start (53.2IP, 35H, 16ER, 29BB, 51K, .187avg, 1HR). He limited right-handed batters to a .162 (18-111) average against while left-handed Triple-A hitters batted .224 (17-76) off him with 0 home runs allowed. The 6-2, 190lb lefty did not allow a run over his last 9 games beginning on August 12 (8.2IP, 4H, 0R, 4BB, 6K) and is making his debut at the Major League level. He was acquired by Cleveland from the Detroit Tigers on July 28, 2010 for SS Jhonny Peralta. He owns a 7-year Minor League career ERA of 3.10 in 167 games (465.0IP, 389H, 160ER).
The Major League roster now consists of 30 players and the 40-man roster remains full.
