Bolsinger last pitched on Saturday, which would've put him on track to start Thursday, although Mat Latos will start that game on normal rest.
Mattingly said the Dodgers don't plan to skip anyone in the rotation, so everyone will get an extra day of rest moving forward.
Bolsinger is 5-3 with a 2.83 ERA in 16 starts with the Dodgers this season, and his last start in the Majors was on July 29.
"You can anticipate he's going to be in this rotation for at least a turn," Mattingly said.
After Wednesday's win, reliever Joe Wieland said he was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Wieland was brought up Tuesday as a part of the rosters expanding but didn't pitch. He was brought as insurance to the bullpen as a long reliever as the Dodgers' bullpen was heavily taxed in its 14-inning win on Monday.
