Well, our Sunday game got washed out due to rain at University of Pacific, but we got a "W" on Friday, 5-3.
I felt great before the game, then got a small blister on my middle finger as the game went on. It made it hard to feel some of my pitches, but I was able to go to my slider a bit more and work off of that pitch. I ended up going seven innings, striking out 11 and got the win against a good-hitting U of P team. They were a real aggressive club at the plate and have some guys in that lineup that can hit the ball a long way.
Finals are just around the corner now, and it seems like all I do is study, practice and study some more. I can't wait for it to be over!
Next up this weekend is WAZZOU (Washington State), and they always come ready to play. It's a battle every time we face our in-state rivals for sure, but we'll be up for the challenge.
I can't believe this is my last regular-season home start at UW. This school, this team, these coaches and fans have been unbelievable and I want to say "thanks" to everybody -- it's been a blast!
I've made so many friendships here that I know will last a lifetime and the memories from being on the field, countless road trips and camaraderie that we've created as teammates and brothers is something that I will never forget.
I've seen seniors (and juniors that were leaving) here before me get nostalgic about their playing careers at U of Washington after their final game and knew the emotion they felt would soon fall upon me.
The final regular season road trip this past weekend brought memories of my first trip as a freshman and how nervous I was. Funny how things change.
Another week has gone by and we're now that much closer to the draft. Those freshman nerves aren't quite there yet, as there is still a lot to be done up here. Until next week!
Tim Lincecum's draft diary appears as told to Jonathan Mayo, a reporter for MLB.com. This story was not subject to the approval of Major League Baseball or its clubs.
