Mariners option INF Jesus Montero to Triple-A Tacoma

HOUSTON, Texas. - The Seattle Mariners announced that infielder Jesus Montero has been optioned to Triple-A Tacoma. Jeff Kingston, the Mariners Assistant General Manager made the announcement.

Montero, 25, was in his second stint with the Mariners. In 25 games with Seattle this season, he hit .200 (15x75) with 5 runs, 5 doubles, 2 home runs and 9 RBI. In his first 14 games with the Mariners, he hit .325 (13x40) with 4 runs, 4 doubles, 2 home runs and 9 RBI; in his last 11 games, he has hit .057 (2x35) with 1 double. In 93 games with Triple-A Tacoma, he has hit .346 (130x376) with 64 runs, 17 doubles, 6 triples, 16 home runs and 75 RBI with a .938 OPS.
