Tribe's top 2 prospects picked for Fall League

TORONTO -- Eight Indians prospects will suit up in this year's edition of the Arizona Fall League. Four position players and four pitchers (to be named later) were selected to the Scottsdale Scorpions' roster released Tuesday.

Outfielders Bradley Zimmer and Clint Frazier, infielder Yandy Diaz and catcher Jeremy Lucas will suit up for the Scorpions when the AFL schedule begins Oct. 13.

Zimmer, the Indians' No. 1 prospect according to, was hitting .287 with 16 homers through 120 games this season between Class A Advanced Lynchburg and Double-A Akron. He was selected by Cleveland in the first round, 21st overall, in the 2014 Draft.

Frazier, the Tribe's No. 2-ranked prospect, has enjoyed a strong season at Class A Advanced, twice earning Player of the Week honors. He put up a .282 average with 15 home runs and 70 RBIs in 126 games.

Diaz, meanwhile, has spent 2015 with Akron, where he's hit .314 with seven homers and 54 RBIs in 130 games. The Cuban defector, ranked as the club's No. 28 prospect, is considered one of the best hitters in the Indians' system.

Rounding out the position players is Lucas. The 24-year-old backstop hit .241 with one homer and 23 RBIs through 64 games at Double-A.
