White Sox Reinstate Daniel Webb from Disabled List; Place Zach Putnam on Disabled List

CHICAGO - Prior to tonight's game vs. Seattle, the Chicago White Sox returned right-handed pitcher Daniel Webb from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and placed right-hander Zach Putnam on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to August 27) with a strained right groin.

Webb, 26, was placed on the disabled list on August 5 with a mid right back strain. He was sent to Charlotte on a rehab assignment on August 21, where he made three appearances. 

Webb has gone 1-0 with a 2.49 ERA (6 ER/21.2 IP) and 15 strikeouts in 17 relief outings this season with the White Sox.

Putnam, 28, is 3-3 with a 3.07 ERA (14 ER/41.0 IP) and 55 strikeouts over 41 relief appearances this season. He ranks sixth among American League relievers with an average of 12.07 strikeouts per 9.0 IP.
