Homestand Highlights: September 1-9

Franchise Four Celebration, Zombie Night, Arts Night at The K and Armed Forces Night all part of Fun-Filled Homestand

KANSAS CITY, MO (August 28, 2015) - After a quick weekend away, the Kansas City Royals return home to host American League Central Division foes Detroit Tigers (September 1-3), Chicago White Sox (September 4-6) and Minnesota Twins (September 7-9). Fans can take part in many great events including Irish Heritage Night (September 2), Zombie Night (September 4), Arts Night at The K (September 5) and Yogis in the Outfield (September 6). The Royals will also be celebrating the Franchise Four (September 1) and Armed Forces Night (September 7). Please see below for more details.

Tuesday, September 1 - Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Franchise Four Celebration - Before the game, the Royals will hold a pregame ceremony honoring the club's "Franchise Four" as voted on by fans. Those who will be honored are Baseball Hall of Famer George Brett and Royals Hall of Famers Dan Quisenberry, Bret Saberhagen and Frank White.
  • T-Shirt Tuesday - In conjunction with the Celebration, the first 10,000 fans will receive a blue Franchise Four t-shirt, courtesy of Washburn University and School of Law (photo attached).

Wednesday, September 2 - Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Irish Heritage Night - Fans who are Irish or think they're Irish can enjoy a special night at The K! Throughout the evening, fans can enjoy special entertainment and activities. Ticket packages start at $22 and include a ticket to that night's game and a single day admission ticket to Kansas City Irish Fest. For more information, visit www.royals.com/irish. 
  • Student Night presented by INK Magazine - Rivals Outfield Plaza or Hy-Vee View Level tickets are available for Wednesday home games for youth and students with a valid ID at the Kauffman Stadium Box Office for just $8. Select tickets are also available online at www.royals.com/studentnight. Seating is subject to availability. All Student Nights include pregame food and beverage specials available at the Boulevard Grill.
  • Local Music Showcase presented by INK Magazine - Catch a free pregame concert on us! Every Wednesday Student Night also features live local music prior to the game in the Outfield Experience. Thursday, September 3 - Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • GordoNation - Fans can enjoy being a part of GordoNation, a special seating section in left field reserved for die-hard Alex Gordon fans on Thursday home games throughout the season. Fans who purchase these tickets will receive a lower-level ticket in left field and the third of three Charlie Hustle brand GordoNation t-shirts (photo attached).   • All You Can Eat Seats - During select Thursday home games throughout the season, fans can purchase All You Can Eat Seats located in the Loge Level (Sec. 319 - 325), which includes unlimited ballpark fare. Friday, September 4 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Zombie Night - Experience an unforgettable night as the Royals host their first-ever Zombie Night at The K! All fans are encouraged to dress in family-friendly Zombie makeup and attire. Face painters will be on-site pregame to help guests complete their looks. Fans who purchased tickets to the sold-out offer can pick up their limited edition Royals Zombie bobblehead (photo attached) at the Hall of Fame Pavilion Tent outside Gate A anytime from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. the evening of the game.   • Buck Night - Every Friday, fans can enjoy a special Buck Night, presented by Visit KC, as hot dogs and peanuts are just $1 each all night long. This Buck Night, the Nelson Atkins Museum will be the featured attraction. Saturday, September 5 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 6:10 p.m.

  • Arts Night at The K - Come enjoy pregame festivities in the Outfield Experience as we showcase various facets of the local art scene. The event will feature entertainment by "Antique Pop" duo Victor & Penny as well as live art-making experiences from KC Chalk and Walk Festival and local graffiti artist Sike. The Youth Symphony of Kansas City will perform the "Star Spangled Banner" to start the game. Each discounted Arts Night at The K ticket package provides a $5 donation to the ArtsKC Fund.   • Wichita State Night - Supporters of Wichita State can join fellow Shocker fans for an evening of big-league action presented by FOX Sports Kansas City and Rally House.   • Yogis in the Outfield - The Kansas City Royals are excited to host the first-ever Yogis in the Outfield. Join the Royals and instructor Sue Park for a special and unique yoga practice on the Kauffman Stadium outfield grass. Fans who already purchased the sold-out ticket package can register beginning at 6:45 a.m. with the one-hour yoga session beginning at 7:45 a.m. A light breakfast will follow the practice in the Hall of Fame Pavilion outside Gate A at 9:15 a.m. All participants must sign a waiver and bring their own yoga mats.   • Mike Sweeney Bobblehead Giveaway - To celebrate his induction, the first 10,000 fans will receive a special Mike Sweeney Royals Hall of Fame bobblehead, courtesy of Commerce Bank (photo attached).
  • Family FunDay Sunday - Each Sunday home game features pregame interactive kids entertainment plus face painters and caricature or balloon artists in the Outfield Experience.
