Indians activate RHP Cody Anderson from D.L.; place RHP Carlos Carrasco on 15-day D.L.

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Activated RHP CODY ANDERSON from the 15-day Disabled List.

Placed RHP CARLOS CARRASCO (right shoulder inflammation) on the 15-day Disabled List, retroactive to August 22.

Anderson has been on the 15-day D.L. since August 8 with left oblique soreness. Tonight marks his 9th start of his brief Major League career and his first since August 7 vs. Minnesota. So far this season he is 2-3 with a 4.31 ERA over 8 starts (48.0IP, 46H, 23ER, 8BB, 20K) with Cleveland after posting a combined 1.89 ERA in 13 starts for AA Akron and AAA Columbus prior to his June 21 promotion. 

Carrasco has battled shoulder soreness since winning his last start at New York-AL on Friday, August 21. So far this season Carlos has gone 12-9 with a 3.53 ERA in 25 starts (158.0IP, 135H, 62ER, 32BB, 173SO). He is currently 4th in the American League in strikeouts (173) and tied for 7th in wins (12).
