Kensing (#27) and Elias (#29) will be active for today's series finale vs. the Chicago White Sox at Safeco Field (1:10 pm).
Paxton is scheduled to start for the Tacoma Rainiers today vs. Memphis at Cheney Stadium (5:05 pm). He has been on the disabled list since May 29 with a strained tendon in his left middle finger (throwing hand).
Kensing, 33, returns to the Major Leagues for the first time since 2013. He has made 135 career appearances in the Majors with the Marlins (2004-2009), Nationals (2009) and Rockies (2013). He has spent the last two seasons in the Mariners minor league system with the Tacoma Rainiers, combining to go 8-3 with 3 saves and a 3.22 ERA (43 ER, 120.1 IP). He signed with Tacoma on May 13 and reported to the Rainiers on May 30. He was a non-roster invitee to Major League spring training by the White Sox before being released at the end of spring training (1-0, 2.25 ERA in 5 Cactus League games).
Elias, 27, will be making his second stint with the Mariners this season. He is 4-6 with a 4.27 ERA (37 ER, 78.0 IP) in 13 starts. In 12 starts with AAA Tacoma he posted a 4-2 record with a 7.34 ERA in 12 starts. He earned the win in his last start Aug. 18 at Oklahoma City, allowing 6 hits and 2 runs in 7.0 innings.
Rodney, 38, went 5-5 with a 5.68 ERA in 54 relief appearances this season, including 16-for-22 in save opportunities. Rodney was an All-Star with Seattle in 2014 setting a single-season club record with 48 saves.
Farquhar, 28, is 0-4 with 1 save and a 5.75 ERA (23 ER, 36.0 IP) in 30 appearances with the Mariners this season. He recorded the loss in last night's 6-3 defeat in 10 innings vs. the White Sox, allowing 3 runs (1 ER) and 3 walks without recording an out.
