KANSAS CITY, MO (August 21, 2015) - The Royals and ArtsKC are teaming up to bring a little song, dance, and art to The K on Saturday, September 5 when the team hosts the Chicago White Sox at 6:10 p.m. The Club will host interactive booths from area arts and lifestyle organizations from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Outfield Experience.
The evening will also feature a performance from "Antique Pop" duo and ArtsKC Fund grant recipients Victor & Penny as well as live art-making experiences from ArtsKC Fund grant recipient KC Chalk and Walk Festival and local graffiti artist and Artist, Inc. graduate Sike. The Youth Symphony of Kansas City will cap off the pregame activities with their on-field performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" to start the game.
"Our main business is baseball and giving fans a great experience," said Toby Cook, Vice President-Community Affairs & Publicity. "We're basically in the entertainment business. We're also committed to our community. Part of that responsibility is to help promote those things that make the Kansas City area a terrific place to live. And, for us, that means encouraging the support of the arts in Kansas City - arts that entertain, educate and touch lives."
Through this promotion, $5 of every ticket purchased at www.royals.com/arts will go directly to the ArtsKC Fund to support artists, arts organizations and arts programs throughout the Kansas City region.
