Club to Recall Byron Buxton from Triple-A Rochester

 

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain. Hicks was hitting .283 (28-for-99) with three doubles, one triple, five home runs, 14 RBI and 16 runs scored in his last 24 games. 

To replace Hicks on the 25-man roster, the Twins will recall outfielder Byron Buxton in time for tomorrow night's game in Baltimore.   The 21-year-old made his major league debut in mid-June and has hit .400 (22-for-55) with three doubles, one triple, one home run, eight RBI and 11 runs scored in 13 games for the Red Wings.
