Burns robs homer with leaping grab

BALTIMORE -- A's center fielder Billy Burns robbed Orioles slugger Chris Davis of a home run for the second out of the seventh inning in an otherwise rough 4-2 series-sweeping loss on Monday at Camden Yards.

Davis stepped to the plate having already slammed three home runs in the four-game series. He was denied a fourth -- and 35th of the season -- when Burns made a leaping grab at the wall in dead center just two innings after entering as a defensive replacement for the ejected Sam Fuld.

"We've seen him do that several times this year," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "He timed it real well."
