White Sox reinstate Shuck from disabled list; Designate Bonifacio for assignment

CHICAGO - Prior to today's series finale vs. the Cubs, the Chicago White Sox returned outfielder J.B. Shuck from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and designated infielder Emilio Bonifacio for assignment.

Shuck, 28, appeared in three rehab games with Charlotte after being placed on the disabled list on August 1 with a strained left hamstring. He is hitting .278 (27-97) with six doubles, one triple, 11 RBI, nine walks and four stolen bases over 54 games this season, his first with the White Sox.

Bonifacio, 30, is batting .167 (13-78) with two doubles, four RBI and five runs scored in 47 games (15 starts) with the Sox in 2015.

Following the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster is at 38.
