Dodgers Place Nicasio on DL, Reinstate Hatcher

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed right-handed pitcher Juan Nicasio on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to Aug. 10) with a left abdominal strain and reinstated right-hander Chris Hatcher (left oblique strain) from the 60-day disabled list. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers transferred Carlos Frias (right lower back tightness) to the 60-day disabled list.

Hatcher, 30, last appeared in a big league game on June 14 and has gone 1-4 with two saves and a 6.38 ERA in 27 games with the Dodgers this year. He made eight combined rehab appearances with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Triple-A Oklahoma City, last pitching a scoreless inning on Tuesday for OKC at New Orleans.

Nicasio has a 1-3 record with one save and a 3.06 ERA in 38 games (one start) this year, his first season with Los Angeles.

Frias has been on the DL since July 1 and has gone 5-5 with a 4.39 ERA in 14 games (12 starts) with the Dodgers this year.
