Two Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Cleveland Indians Minor League outfielder Luigi Rodriguez has received an 80-game suspension without pay following a positive test for a metabolite of Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance. Rodriguez is currently on the roster of Single-A Lynchburg of the Carolina League. His suspension is effective immediately.

Free agent pitcher Jose Valverde has received an 80-game suspension without pay following a positive test for a metabolite of Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance. His suspension will become effective immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.
