Yelich day to day with right knee injury

MIAMI -- Miami outfielder Christian Yelich was scratched from the Marlins lineup with a right knee contusion prior to Tuesday night's 5-4 win against the Red Sox. He's listed as day to day.

Yelich, 23, sustained the injury in Sunday's 4-1 win in Atlanta while climbing the outfield wall to try to rob Jonny Gomes' seventh-inning homer.

"We just felt like giving him the night off after yesterday's [off day] hopefully will help it heal up much quicker," manager Dan Jennings said.

Yelich was slated to play center field and bat third prior to his late scratch from the lineup. Cole Gillespie replaced him in center field and went 2-for-4, while left fielder Derek Dietrich moved into the No. 3 spot and went 1-for-4 with two walks.

In 92 games this season, Yelich is batting .275 with six home runs, 29 RBIs and 14 stolen bases. In his last 30 games, he's hitting .310 (36-for-116) with 13 RBIs.
