Softball teams from Cleveland, OH and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic earn #1 playoff seeds at RBI World Series

Softball teams from Cleveland, OH and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic have earned the #1 seeds in their respective softball playoff brackets at the 23rd annual Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) World Series, the international championship tournament of the RBI program, the MLB youth initiative designed to provide young people from underserved and diverse communities the opportunities to play baseball and softball.

Playoffs begin tomorrow at Bob Jones Park in Southlake, TX. The softball championship game will be played at Allan Saxe Field at University of Texas-Arlington on Sunday, August 9. Following is the full tournament seeding for the elimination round of the 2015 RBI World Series:

American League Central
#1 - Dominican Republic RBI (Santo Domingo, DR), 3-1
#2 - River Region RBI (Montgomery, AL), 2-2
#3 - Houston Astros RBI (Houston, TX), 2-2
#4 - City of Hoboken RBI (Hoboken, NJ), 0-3-1

National League Central
#1 - Cleveland Baseball Federation RBI (Cleveland, OH), 4-0
#2 - Harrisburg RBI (Harrisburg, PA), 3-1
#3 - Nobu Yamauchi RBI (Hilo, HI), 1-2-1
#4 - Mathews-Dickey Boys & Girls Club RBI (St. Louis, MO), 0-4
