Broadcast Auction Kicks off Homestand

KANSAS CITY, MO (August 7, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals will play 10-straight games at Kauffman Stadium as they host the Chicago White Sox (August 7-9), Detroit Tigers (August 10-12) and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (August 13-16).   The Royals Charities Broadcast Auction - postponed because of a rain delay on July 10 - will take place tonight during the game. Other great programs for the homestand include Alex's Lemonade Stand (August 9), Dream Factory (August 12) and Moose Lodge (August 14). The Royals Charities and MLBPAA Concourse Auction will take place on the main concourse near Guest Services every game throughout the homestand. Please see below for more details.

Also note, the game the Sunday, August 16 game has been moved from 1:10 p.m. to 7:08 p.m. to air as an ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game.

Friday, August 7 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

Royals Charities Broadcast Auction - Royals Charities and FOX Sports Kansas City partner for a special on-air auction, giving viewers the opportunity to bid on unique ballpark experiences or purchase exclusive Royals ticket packages online. The auction begins at 6:30 p.m. during the Hy-Vee Royals LIVE pre-game show and continues throughout the telecast. Saturday, August 8 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 6:10 p.m.

Meet Danny Duffy at Rally House - Pitcher Danny Duffy will sign autographs and meet fans at the Rally House in Independence, Mo., from noon to 1 p.m. The autograph session is free to all guests and limited to two items per person through the line.

  • CSL Back-to-School Backpack Drive - After the 2014 postseason, Royals Charities opened a special postseason grant funding opportunity for Kansas City nonprofit organizations. Community Services League was selected as a recipient of a $50,000 grant to support its Back to School Fair in 2015. The program supports both children and education, two of Royals Charities grant funding priorities. Kids will receive backpacks filled with supplies they need to start their school year. Because of Royals Charities support, Community Services League will serve quadruple the number of kids that have received backpacks and school supplies in previous years. The drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Services League location at 404 N. Noland Rd., Independence, Mo.

Sunday, August 9 - Chicago White Sox vs. Royals, 1:10 p.m.

  • Royals Family Lemonade Stand to Benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation - Jamie Gordon, wife of outfielder Alex Gordon, and the Royals Wives and their children will be selling lemonade to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., fans can stop by the Alex's Lemonade Stand in the Outfield Experience to support childhood cancer research. Royals Wives will also be selling mystery bags featuring a baseball autographed by a Royals player. For more information, visit www.royals.com/lemonade.        

UMPS CARE - The Royals partner with Major League Baseball umpires to offer memorable baseball experiences for children awaiting adoption and at-risk youth in mentoring programs. The children receive a VIP experience including complimentary tickets, a baseball goody bag, and the unique opportunity to step onto the field for a souvenir baseball and photo.

  • Save A Warrior Meet and Greet with Davis - Military members and first responders who are part of the Save A Warrior program will be attending the game as guests of the Royals, pitcher Wade Davis and his wife, Katelyn. The group is taking part in the program at the Heartland Center in Parkville, Mo., throughout the week and will meet Davis and his teammates during Royals batting practice. Prior to the game, Royals Charities will present a check to the organization.

Wednesday, August 12 - Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

Braden's Hope Calendar Shoot - Several Royals players will take part in a calendar photo shoot at Kauffman Stadium beginning at 1 p.m. Each player will be paired with a youngster battling cancer for a series of photos at various locations throughout the stadium. The 2016 calendar will be available in September with proceeds benefiting Braden's Hope for Childhood Cancer.

Dream Factory - Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.

Heart & Hustle Award - The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will honor Alex Gordon as the Royals recipient of the Heart and Hustle Award, which recognizes players who best demonstrate a passion for the game.

Thursday, August 13 - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

Moose Lodge - Third baseman Mike Moustakas, together with the Royals and KCP&L, will host foster care children and their families in the Moose Lodge. Each child from Midwest Foster Care and Adoption will receive a complimentary ticket, a "Moose Lodge" t-shirt and a free meal courtesy of ARAMARK and Papa John's Pizza. The special guests will also participate in a meet-and-greet with Moustakas.

50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson - A portion of the proceeds from the nightly Royals Charities fundraiser will benefit ALS Association Mid-America Chapter. www.royals.com/5050.
