The Boston Pops Jazz Band, featuring Stan Strickland, will headline the Red Sox Foundation's 10th Annual "Picnic in the Park," presented by Ace Ticket, this Sunday, August 2, on the field at Fenway Park after the Red Sox' game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The game begins at 1:35 p.m., and the picnic is expected to begin about 45 minutes after the game. Picnic participants do not need a ticket to the game.
Red Sox Players and their wives will attend the event, which benefits the Red Sox Scholars and RBI programs. A limited number of tickets for Picnic in the Park are still available at redsox.com/picnic.
The event includes a 50-minute autograph session with the players, a picnic on the outfield grass, and a live performance by members of the Boston Pops featuring Strickland, an award-winning, internationally renowned singer, saxophonist, and flutist with local roots.
All fans currently have the opportunity to bid in an on-line auction for extraordinary experiences with Dustin Pedroia, Clay Buchholz, Justin Masterson, and other players and coaches. Visit redsox.com/picnic and click on the auction link. Bids must be received by the Red Sox Foundation by noon on Saturday, August 1.
