Prior to tonight's game at Boston, the Chicago White Sox placed infielder Emilio Bonifacio on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain and recalled infielder Leury Garcia from Class AAA Charlotte.
Garcia, 24, is hitting .296 (86-291) with 15 doubles, one triple, one home run, 24 RBI, 40 runs scored and 28 stolen bases over 75 games with Charlotte this season. He is tied for second in the International League in stolen bases and ranks 10th in average.
Garcia also was with the White Sox from July 23-25 while Bonifacio was on the Bereavement List. He went 1-1 on July 23 at Cleveland in his only appearance.
Bonifacio, 30, is hitting .169 (13-77) in 45 games with Chicago this season after signing as a free agent on January 8.
