Marlins on the mound:
Starter Jason Vargas allowed six runs in four innings. He gave up four home runs in the first 10 batters he faced. He then retired eight of the next 11 hitters he faced, allowing just two walks and an error. Todd Wellemeyer pitched his second scoreless inning since being acquired from the Cubs.
Rangers on the mound:
Starter R.A. Dickey allowed four runs in four innings, giving up the grand slam to Cabrera. The Rangers turned two double plays behind him.

The Rangers have a workout Sunday morning at Ameriquest Field in Arlington in preparation for the season opener on Monday against the Boston Red Sox. The Marlins work out at 5 p.m. CT Sunday at Minute Maid Park before opening Monday against the Houston Astros.
