D-backs acquire Minor Leaguers Josh Taylor and Chris Oliver

Exchange international bonus pool slots with Phillies

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) acquired Minor League left-handed pitcher Josh Taylor, right-handed pitcher Chris Oliver and the Phillies' first international bonus pool slot (slot 9 overall) in exchange for Arizona's first international bonus pool slot (slot 1 overall), as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

Taylor, 22, has gone 4-5 with a 4.61 ERA (35 ER in 68.1 IP) and 70 strikeouts in 13 starts for Single-A Lakewood. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound starter is from Peoria, Ariz. and graduated from Centennial High School in 2011. Taylor was signed by the Phillies as a Minor League free agent on Aug. 12, 2014.

Oliver, 21, went 4-5 with a 4.04 ERA (31 ER in 69.0 IP) and 1 complete game in 13 starts for Lakewood. In parts of 2 Minor League seasons, he has gone 4-7 with 4.98 ERA (48 ER in 86.2 IP) in 22 games (16 starts). The 6-foot-4, 170-pounder was drafted by the Phillies in the fourth round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft from the University of Arkansas.
