Royals in the Community: Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids, Broadcast Auction Highlight Homestand

The Kansas City Royals return to Kauffman Stadium tonight to host the Minnesota Twins through Sunday, Tampa Bay Rays (July 6-9) and Toronto Blue Jays (July 10-12). The Club will be involved in many great events throughout the week, including the Royals Blood Drive (July 6-12), Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids (July 7) and a cell phone recycling event (July 10). Royals Charities will once again partner with FOX Sports Kansas City for the annual Broadcast Auction. Please see below for more details.

Thursday, July 2 - Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • KC Star Scholar-Athletes - The Royals host the two overall male and female winners of The Kansas City Star Scholar-Athlete program during the ceremonial first pitch ceremony. This year's winners are Dorian Bailey of St. Teresa's Academy and Dalton Schoen of Blue Valley Northwest High School. The program recognizes more than a hundred scholar-athletes for academics, athletics and overall impact in their schools and communities.
  • RBI Night - The Royals host participants in the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program of Kansas City, Mo., for a special night at Kauffman Stadium. The kids receive complimentary tickets and food while taking in the game.
  • Noah's Bandage Project - In honor of young Noah Wilson, a mainstay during the 2014 postseason who lost his battle with cancer this week, Royals Charities will be collecting colorful and fun bandages throughout the Royals-Twins series in the Royals Charities headquarters. Each donated box of bandages will go to The Noah Bandage Project for children in area hospitals. Following the collection, Royals Charities will make a monetary donation to the organization.

Friday, July 3 - Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Moose Lodge - Third baseman Mike Moustakas, together with the Royals and KCP&L, will host foster care children and their families in the Moose Lodge. Each child from Cornerstones of Care will receive complimentary tickets, a "Moose Lodge" t-shirt and a free meal courtesy of ARAMARK and Papa John's Pizza. The special guests will also participate in a meet-and-greet with Moustakas before the game.
  • Royals Charities and MLBPAA Concourse Auction - Royals Charities and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association host a silent auction near Guest Services on the main concourse from the time the gates open until the end of the sixth inning.
  • Noah's Bandage Project Continues in the Royals Charities Headquarters

Saturday, July 4 - Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.

  • Royals Host Gold Star Families - Family of fallen military members will be hosted at the game to watch batting practice from behind the dugout, take part in a meet-and-greet with select players and receive special recognition prior to the game.
  • Royals Charities and MLBPAA Concourse Auction - Royals Charities and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association host a silent auction near Guest Services on the main concourse from the time the gates open until the end of the sixth inning.
  • Noah's Bandage Project Continues in the Royals Charities Headquarters

  • Royals Blood Drive - Throughout the week, fans can donate blood at area Community Blood Center locations. Any fan who registers to donate will receive tickets to a Royals game. Tuesday, July 7 - Tampa Bay Rays vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Clinic with Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids - The club has partnered with Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids for a second year to host a youth clinic for approximately 40 children with special needs. Each child will receive a personalized jersey and take part in a clinic with stations led by current and former Royals players. The event will take place at the Daniel's Diamond adaptive field at McCoy Park, located near Highway 24 and Delaware St. in Independence, Mo. The clinic will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow.
  • Royals Blood Drive - The annual Royals Blood Drive continues at all area Community Blood Center locations. 1985 World Series infielder Greg Pryor will appear at the Overland Park, Kan. location, 10568 Metcalf Ave., from noon to 1 p.m.
  • 50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson - A portion of the proceeds from the nightly Royals Charities fundraiser will benefit Charlie's House. royals.com/5050.

Wednesday, July 8 - Tampa Bay Rays vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Royals Blood Drive - The annual Royals Blood Drive continues at all area Community Blood Center locations. Royals Hall of Fame Pitcher and 1985 World Series MVP Bret Saberhagen will sign autographs and donate blood from noon to 1 p.m. at the Kansas City, Mo. location, 4040 Main St. The center will host a tailgate party from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Sluggerrr will make a special appearance from 11 a.m. to noon. 
  • Buses for Baseball - The Major League Baseball Players Association hosts underprivileged children in ballparks through the Buses for Baseball program. The special guests from the Police Athletic League will have a chance to meet with select Royals players behind the Royals dugout during batting practice and will receive complimentary tickets, souvenirs, food and transportation on the Fox Sports Kansas City Fan Express Bus.
  • Dream Factory - Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.

  • Royals Charities Broadcast Auction - Royals Charities and FOX Sports Kansas City partner for a special on-air auction, giving viewers the opportunity to bid on unique ballpark experiences or purchase exclusive Royals ticket packages. The auction begins at 6:30 p.m. during the Hy-Vee Royals LIVE pre-game show and continues throughout the telecast.   • Cell Phone Recycling Event - The Royals are partnering with Ericsson to help fans recycle old cell phones at the Sprint Store at Legends Outlets, located at 1813 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, Kan., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participating fans will receive two free Royals tickets to an upcoming 2015 home game while supplies last.   • Ban Johnson All-Star Game - The Royals host the Ban Johnson All-Star Game before the game against the Blue Jays. The Club has hosted the event, which features college ballplayers from the area that play in this summer wood-bat league, since 1969. The game will start at 9 a.m. and conclude by 11:30 a.m.
