The Red Sox have signed their first-round Draft pick, Andrew Benintendi, the club announced Tuesday night.
Benintendi and the Red Sox agreed on a signing bonus of $3,590,400, which was the full slot value for the No. 7 overall pick.
The outfielder out of Arkansas, who won the Dick Howser Trophy given to the top overall player in college baseball, was considered to have some of the best all-around tools in the 2015 Draft.
Benintendi became the first National Player of the Year and the third-highest-drafted player in Arkansas program history, while leading the nation with 20 home runs. He was the first Division 1 player since 2009 to hit 20-plus homers and steal 20-plus bases.
