Forsythe, Rays need big ASG ballot push

ST. PETERSBURG -- Major League Baseball released the final update of the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot on Monday and no Rays players could be found among the leaders, including Logan Forsythe.

• Many ASG races up for grabs

Forsythe carried into Monday night's action a .297 average with eight home runs, 32 RBIs and an .833 OPS. Those numbers dwarf those of leading vote-getter at second base, Omar Infante, who entered Monday's action with a .237 average, no home runs, 23 RBIs and a .562 OPS.

"I think it's crazy," said Steven Souza Jr., Rays outfielder and Forsythe's teammate. "Even if you take what he's done at the dish, which is incredible, I don't know what it is, but I would imagine he's almost tops in all categories for second basemen.

"Logan's defense alone and what he means to this team. We're in first place and he's one of the biggest reasons for it. It's just kind of sad this is what's going to happen."
