Blue Jays to celebrate Canada Day presented by Honda in front of sold out crowd

The Toronto Blue Jays will celebrate Canada Day presented by Honda at Rogers Centre, Wednesday July 1st as they take on the Boston Red Sox at 1:07pm. The game is SOLD OUT; however some tickets will be released 24 hours prior to first pitch.

Fans are encouraged to get to the ballpark early. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Blue Jays Forces T-shirt presented by Honda. Outside the ballpark, the Blue Jays will celebrate Canada's birthday. In-game activities continue with Canadian themed giveaways and entertainment.

During the game, Rogers Centre will go red and one lucky fan will become the proud owner of a new 2015 Honda Civic Sedan Ex, courtesy of Honda Canada. In-game the activities will continue with Canadian themed giveaways and entertainment.

During the pregame ceremonies, the Blue Jays will proudly honour the Canadian Armed Forces. Vice Chief of Defence Staff Lieutenant-General Guy Thibault will participate in the ceremonies along with 13 members of the Canadian Armed Forces from each province and territory. Accompanying these members will be an additional 250 members carrying the Canadian Flag. Sergeant Darryl Casselman will sing the anthems with colours presented by the Flag Party from Her Majesty's Canadian Ship York. 

From Coach's Corner on Hockey Night in Canada, the legendary Don Cherry will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to Josh Donaldson in recognition of his support for his All-Star voting. 

The team will wear a new 2015 Blue Jays Canada Day jersey and special edition Canada Day cap. The new 2015 Canada Day Blue Jays jersey is available at all Jays Shop retail locations and online at www.jaysshop.ca. Additionally the Red Sox will wear a Canadian flag sleeve patch to honour Canada Day as part of a new reciprocal country tribute this year. The Blue Jays will wear a United States flag sleeve patch on US Independence Day in Detroit.
