Chicago White Sox Charities invites fans to the Field of Greens Celebrity Golf Tournament, presented by Miller Lite, on Monday, July 20, at Harborside International Golf Course in Chicago.
The annual event features the opportunity to golf alongside current players and coaches as well as White Sox greats, members of the 2005 World Series team, and other local sports and media celebrities. Some of the notable guests scheduled to attend this year's event are 2005 World Series Championship team members Jermaine Dye, Carl Everett, Ozzie Guillen, Dustin Hermanson and Cliff Politte; White Sox Public Address Announcer Gene Honda; White Sox alumni Bo Jackson, Ron Kittle, Carlos May, Bill Melton and Dan Pasqua; actor D.B. Sweeney; and White Sox Executive Vice President Ken Williams. Manager Robin Ventura also is scheduled to attend with current players and members of his coaching staff.
The event includes a raffle, auction and several gifts for attendees. Proceeds from Field of Greens benefit pediatric cancer treatment and research programs at The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital and Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital.
The golfing package includes pairing with a White Sox celebrity, green fees, a cart, a custom White Sox pitching wedge, breakfast, lunch on the course and a post tournament dinner. Registration is currently open for both foursomes and single golfers. Those interested in attending the event should visit whitesoxcharities.org for more information.
