Montas will play for the World Team, managed by Tony Perez. Joel Skinner, the manager at Triple-A Charlotte in the White Sox system, will coach under manager Ken Griffey Sr. on the U.S. Team.

Major League Baseball, in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 Major League clubs, selected the 25 players currently on each team. Montas was selected to participate in the 2014 Futures Game along with second baseman Micah Johnson, but Montas was unable to play due to knee surgery.

Through 12 starts with Double-A Birmingham this season, Montas has a 1-1 record with a 2.55 ERA. The Dominican Republic native and No. 2 White Sox prospect, according to MLBPipeline.com, has 48 strikeouts over 60 innings, and he hurled a seven-inning no-hitter on June 9 for the Barons.

The 17th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game takes place at 2 p.m. CT on July 12, and it can be seen live on MLB Network and MLB.com, with Matt Vasgersian, Dan Plesac, Heidi Watney and Jonathan Mayo on the call. In addition, SiriusXM Radio will broadcast play-by-play coverage of the event live on MLB Network Radio (XM channel 89; Sirius channel 209).
