CHICAGO - Prior to tonight's game vs. Pittsburgh, the Chicago White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Scott Carroll from Class AAA Charlotte and designated right-hander Hector Noesi for assignment.
Carroll, 30, has gone 3-2 with a 2.37 ERA (8 ER/30.1 IP), 18 strikeouts and a .219 (25-114) opponents average in six starts with Charlotte this season.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Carroll went 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA (6 ER/17.1 IP) over eight relief appearances in his first stint this season with the White Sox from April 26-May 28. He is 6-11 with a 4.60 ERA (75 ER/146.2 IP) and 71 strikeouts in 34 games (19 starts) over two seasons with Chicago (2014-15).
Noesi, 28, is 0-4 with a 6.89 ERA (25 ER/32.2 IP) and 22 strikeouts in 10 games (five starts) this season. He went 8-15 with a 4.80 ERA (106 ER/198.2 IP) and 139 strikeouts in 38 games (32 starts) with the White Sox after being claimed off waivers from Texas on April 25, 2014.
