Saunders split last season between Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Salt Lake in addition to making two starts with the Angels. The left-hander went 7-4 with a 3.49 ERA in 18 starts with the Travelers and 3-3 with a 4.58 ERA in nine starts at Salt Lake. The 24-year-old Saunders was also named the organization's Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
With the Angels, Saunders posted a 7.71 ERA but did not record a decision. He made his Major League debut Aug. 16 and allowed two runs over 7 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays.
Arredondo made stops at Class A Orem and Arkansas last season. The right-hander was 5-0 with a 4.19 ERA in 15 appearances with the Owlz, making 13 starts, and posted a 3.38 ERA in five relief appearances at Arkansas. Arredondo, 21, began his career as a shortstop before switching to pitcher last season.
Dunn figured into the Angels' plan last spring but was unable to win a spot in the bullpen and spent the season at Salt Lake. The right-hander finished with a 5-7 record, nine saves and a 3.82 ERA in 47 appearances. He made six starts and led the Stingers in appearances and strikeouts (98).
Shell made 27 starts at Arkansas, where he posted a 10-8 record and a 4.57 ERA last season. The 23-year-old ranked third in the Texas League with 126 strikeouts.
Gorneault hit .293 with 26 doubles, 26 home runs and led the Pacific Coast League with 108 RBIs in 130 games at Salt Lake last season.
