Indians third-base coach Steve Smith received a two-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for Tuesday's eighth-inning on-field incident at Fenway Park, Major League Baseball announced Thursday.
Cleveland's Jensen Lewis and Boston's Josh Beckett, Mike Cameron, Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis were fined an undisclosed amount of money.
Both benches cleared during the Red Sox's eventual 3-1 win over the Indians when Lewis threw behind the back of an angered Adrian Beltre to start the bottom of the eighth.
Beckett -- who previously plunked Shelley Duncan and Shin-Soo Choo, though he said it was accidental -- was the most boisterous while going out to the mound, where pushing and shoving occurred momentarily. Smith then confronted Red Sox pitching coach John Farrell before manager Terry Francona intervened.
Lewis, Smith and Beckett were ejected by home-plate umpire Tim Welke.
Smith was suspended "for his inappropriate and aggressive actions during the incident," the release stated, and he is scheduled to begin serving his suspension during Thursday night's game against the Red Sox.
Cameron, Ellsbury, Pedroia and Youkilis are all on the disabled list.
