The 31-year-old Santos pitched to a 4.73 ERA in 12 games this season with Los Angeles, but he's shown that he can handle the late innings in the past. Santos saved 30 games for the White Sox in 2011, but he's been limited to just 65 innings over the past four seasons due to a spate of injuries.
Santos, the 27th pick in the 2002 MLB Draft, has pitched for the White Sox, Blue Jays and Dodgers in his career, and he has a 7-12 record and a 3.95 ERA in 192 big league appearances. Santos cleared waivers last week.
