All-Star catcher to finish rehab stint Tuesday; could serve as DH vs. Astros

Wieters may make season debut Thursday

BALTIMORE -- There's been a change to Matt Wieters' rehab schedule, as he will just catch Bud Norris Tuesday at Triple-A Norfolk and could debut with the Orioles as early as Thursday in Houston.

Wieters had originally been slated to catch for Class-A Frederick on Monday and Triple-A on Wednesday, but will now just have one more rehab start before joining the team. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Wieters could DH on Thursday, the first day he is eligible, or he will start Friday behind the plate as originally planned.

Kevin Gausman (right shoulder tendinitis) will throw a simulated game on Tuesday in Houston, and will pitch three innings for Frederick on rehab assignment on Saturday. He will then move to Double-A Bowie to throw 4-5 innings there.
