Moncada smashes first Minors homer

Red Sox top prospect Yoan Moncada crushed his first career Minor League home run on Saturday night.

MLBPipeline.com's No. 8-ranked prospect, Moncada connected for a two-run shot in the sixth inning of Class A Greenville's 11-4 victory over Lexington. He finished the game 2-for-5, also contributing a double and three RBIs.

Moncada, who just turned 20 on Wednesday, signed a $31.5 million contract with the Red Sox this offseason, the largest the franchise has given to an amateur free agent. With Saturday's performance, the infielder is now hitting .257 (9-for-35) with a double, a triple and a home run in nine games.
