To participate, fans can bring canned goods and other nonperishable food items to the games. They will be collected at the entrance gates beginning two hours prior to the game until the end of the first inning.
Items most needed include: protein items; canned tuna or chicken packed in water; cleaning supplies; canned stews and pasta/meat; peanut butter; packages of dry beans; canned fruits in light syrup; 100 percent juice cans or boxes; canned vegetables, tomatoes or tomato sauce; soups with meat and/or beans; cereals and cereal bars easy on sugar and fat; pasta, spaghetti, macaroni and noodles.
Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Meanwhile, the Astros Foundation will host a raffle throughout the homestand for game-used and autographed memorabilia, among other prizes. Tickets are $5 apiece or five for $20. Also, Mystery Grab Bags will be available on Friday and Saturday for a $25 donation at the Astros Community Clubhouse located near section 108/109.
