Giron was 3-for-5 with two runs scored for Fort Wayne on Monday. The Dominican Republic native has hit in all eight games he's played for Fort Wayne, going 20-for-38 with a double, two triples, two home runs, two steals, three walks, five RBIs and 10 runs scored.
In addition to a .526 batting average, Giron has a .561 on-base percentage and a .816 slugging percentage for a 1.377 OPS. Giron, who doesn't turn 19 until next January, debuted with a six-hit game. He also has two three-hit games and three two-hit games.
At San Antonio, Hancock (4-1, 2.25 ERA) allowed two hits and two walks with six strikeouts in the 18-25 Missions' 6-0 win in the seven-inning opener of the doubleheader. Right-handed reliever Adam Cimber (2.53 ERA) allowed a walk with a strikeout in 1 1/3 hitless innings.
Butler (0-2, 4.50 ERA in two starts since being promoted from high Class A Lake Elsinore) allowed one run on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over six innings of the seven-inning second game. Right-handed reliever Luis De La Cruz (9.39 ERA) gave up seven runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning in the final inning of the 8-0 loss.
Left fielder Alberth Martinez (.263) was 3-for-3 with a home run in the opener. Catcher Jason Hagerty (.167) also homered in the opener. It was the fourth homers for both Martinez and Bruguera. Second baseman Rey Bruguera (.213) was 3-for-3 with a double in the second game.
Shortstop Trea Turner (.340) was 2-for-6 with two RBIs in the doubleheader. With hits in both games, Turner extended his hitting streak to nine straight games and has reached base in 24 straight games.
Second baseman Diego Goris (.253) was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in the doubleheader.
Center fielder Travis Jankowski (.335) was 2-for-5 in the doubleheader, but left the second game early with what was preliminarily diagnosed as a bruised finger.

RHP Jordan Hershiser allowed four runs on four hits in 1 2/3 innings in his debut with the Storm. RHP Jason Jester (6.75 ERA) allowed a hit with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
LOW CLASS A FORT WAYNE (15-27): LANSING 11, TinCaps 5 -- 3B Duanel Jones (.320) backed Giron, going 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Starting RHP T.J. Weir (2-2, 5.93 ERA) allowed six runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks with six strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings. LHP Taylor Cox (6.06 ERA) allowed three runs on two hits and three walks in two innings.
