Rendon to play in simulated game Monday

WASHINGTON -- Anthony Rendon had a Sunday morning workout at Nationals Park and didn't have any problems. He took grounders at second base for the third consecutive day and took batting practice in the cage.

In fact, it prompted manager Matt Williams to say that Rendon will play in simulated games starting on Monday in Viera, Fla. Rendon will play three or four innings that day and move on from there.

"It was a good three days of work [at Nationals Park]," Williams said.

Rendon has yet to play a Major League game this season because of a left knee sprain and left oblique strain.
