Manager Matt Williams reiterated it is a slow process for Rendon, and there is no timetable as to when he will play his first Major League game of 2015.
Rendon is currently on the disabled list because of a left oblique strain that he suffered during a rehab assignment. Before that, he was on the DL because of a left knee sprain that he hurt against the Braves on March 9.
"Right now, we are trying to get him healthy as possible," Williams said. "It was a good day for him. Glad to have him back -- on the road to recovery."
Rendon was doing baseball activities in Viera, Fla., but Williams said he is better off in Washington D.C.
"The training staff, everybody is here," Williams said. "He can see [medical director and head team physician] Dr. Wiemi Douoguih here and get some things accomplished. If he is not playing games, it's just as good [at Nationals Park] as anywhere."
