Burke: What a thrilling game

Astros rookie Chris Burke is providing daily commentary to MLB.com throughout his team's postseason run. Burke breaks down Houston's 2-1 win on Sunday.

What a game on Sunday. People think walk-off home runs are fun, but that was as much fun as I've ever had. Well, maybe not the most fun I've ever had, but that is just a great way to win a game.

It says a lot about the guys we have on this team and the fact that when Phil Garner puts somebody in, he's counting on them to make a play. We have so many guys capable of making plays, and I think that's really one of the biggest strengths of the team.

Eric Bruntlett is just such a good defender, no matter where you put him. He made an absolutely perfect play and Adam Everett made one of the best turns that I've ever seen to complete that double play that ended the game. I don't think you could have turned that double play quicker or better than he did.

And Willy Taveras made a huge catch in the eighth inning. There were just a lot of little things and a lot of people pitching in Sunday to help us with the victory.

You'd have to be blind to not realize the hot streak that Phil's on. He puts Willy in to pinch-run, he beats the play by a step. He puts him in center field, he makes a great play on the hill. He takes Brandon Backe out and brings Mike Gallo in, he gets an out on one pitch. He puts Bruntlett in at second base, he makes a double play. I think everybody has a lot of confidence in Phil's abilty to manage a game.

Nothing has come easy for us this season. We definitely are prepared for these kinds of games. We certainly have a lot of experience with them. But at the same time, it's starting to become pretty taxing mentally and physically. We'll go home, get some rest and hopefully we'll play a good game on Monday.

With Andy Pettitte and Chris Carpenter pitching Game 5, I expect another classic. Hopefully we'll make enough plays to win.
