Indians Recall RHP Austin Adams from Columbus; Designate LHP Bruce Chen for Assignment

ARLINGTON, TX - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Recalled RHP AUSTIN ADAMS (#49) from AAA Columbus.

Designated LHP BRUCE CHEN for assignment.

Adams, 28, will begin his third stint of the season with Cleveland (also April 6-9 & April 12-17), as he made a pair of relief appearances for the Indians on April 12 vs. Detroit and April 14 vs. Chicago-AL (1.93 ERA, 4.2 IP, 2H, 1R-ER, 1HR, 2BB, 1SO). Began the year on Cleveland's Opening Day roster and has also made 8 relief appearance for Triple-A Columbus, posting a 1-2 record and 5.68 ERA (6.1IP, 5H, 4R-ER, 7BB, 10SO).

Chen, 37, has made a pair starts for Cleveland, going 0-1 with a 12.79 ERA (6.1IP, 17H, 9R-ER, 3HR, 1BB, 4SO). The left-hander began the year with Columbus, going 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA (31.0IP, 19H, 6R-ER, 4HR, 3BB, 23SO) in 5 games/starts.
