Cleveland, OH - Members of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns organizations will participate in the 13th annual Cleveland Sports Bowl, which benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland's Bowl for Kids' Sake event.
Slider and Chomps will roll the ceremonial 'first bowl' of the event, which was established to help raise funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland. The national initiative is the signature fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), which provides guidance and support to children in Northeast Ohio through BBBS of Greater Cleveland.
Since 1989, CIC has donated nearly $10 million to youth-oriented agencies and organizations of Northeast Ohio, including a $1 million donation in April 2012 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland's "Save the Kids" campaign. Additionally, Cleveland Metropolitan School District high school baseball and softball programs are made possible due to a multi-million-dollar commitment from Cleveland Indians Charities.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is the largest provider of one-on-one youth mentoring services in the United States. They have been bringing caring adults into the lives of children for over 100 years. BBBS of Greater Cleveland provides professionally supported one-on-one mentoring services to youth, serving nearly 500 children annually in Cuyahoga County, either in the community or at a site or school
