2015 Marlins Charity Partner Special Olympics Florida - Miami-Dade County to be honored at Marlins Park

WHAT: On Friday, May 1, the Marlins Foundation will celebrate the second of four Charity Partner Days at Marlins Park. Officially launched on during Opening Week, 2015 Marlins Charity Partners received a $25,000.00 charitable contribution from the Marlins Foundation, thanks to the generosity of Marlins Players Jeff Baker, Mike Dunn, Michael Morse and Giancarlo Stanton.

To celebrate Special Olympics Florida's Charity Partner Day, members of their organization will participate in a variety of pregame and in-game events, including a ceremonial first pitch. The Marlins Charity Partner will also receive a portion of the proceeds raised through the Marlins Foundation Silent Auction, 50/50 Raffle and Superheroes Night ticket sales.

WHY: For the second consecutive year, the Marlins will serve as the official sponsor of Special Olympics Softball in Miami. The partnership will provide a higher threshold of opportunity for training, competition, personal growth and community engagement for the athletes in the program.
